Downside: the tank takes up space.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Direct flow (compact, tankless)<\/strong>: they produce the flow in real time. Upside: no tank, more hygienic and compact. Downside: flow is tighter \u2014 best for moderate consumption.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For households of 2-3 people, a compact direct-flow unit is enough. For big families or heavy water drinkers, better with a tank.<\/p>\n<h2>With or without a remineralizer<\/h2>\n<p>The <a href=\"\/en\/osmosis-inversa-domestica\/\">osmosis<\/a> membrane leaves the water very pure but without minerals. A <strong>remineralizing postfilter<\/strong> adds back a small amount of minerals to improve taste and adjust pH.
